Settled into Retirement

I challenged myself with this old tow-truck. It intrigued me because it had such a story to tell! "Jet Service" was the Company and "Our Business is Picking Up" the slogan. Its tow-end sat deep within an overgrown bush. As I was drawing it, passersby regaled me with its story. Grandfather Jake retired in '65 and his grandson, Travis, had also driven Betsy in the 60's. They thought it would still run. The company building was next door...I met Travis himself. I painted mornings starting at 7 AM for 3 days to experience the early light. It now resides in the Sidedoor Cafe of Victor.
